Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Stowers should have been long gone. The Chiefs pounced, and earned a D.

Somebody took the Chiefs to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Stowers. They are betting Boettcher proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Keldric Faulk
In slot 7 they get a bendy edge with upside. A real need, handled.
Pick20 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In No. 20 they get a three-down runner at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Chris Bell
Good price on Chris Bell in Round 2, Pick 8, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick74 Rnd3 A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington in pick 74 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick77 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
Keionte Scott in the 77th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick101 Rnd4 Eli Stowers
Circle this one: Eli Stowers at pick No. 101 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick109 Rnd4 Keon Sabb
Keon Sabb at No. 109 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick146 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
They barely believed it either: Domani Jackson still on the board at slot 146. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick176 Rnd5 Bryce Boettcher
A reach for Bryce Boettcher in the 176th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
