You can hear the double-takes from here. The Lions took Marcellas Dial at pick No. 201, roughly 43 spots before his name belonged. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. On value alone, Simpson makes the weekend a net positive.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
