Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesD+ FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Packers: C+.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Trajan Jeffcoat at Round 7, Pick 25, a reach of 63 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

If Cooper DeJean and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In No. 25 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jaylen Wright
They paid a round early for Jaylen Wright in Round 2, Pick 22, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick58 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier in pick No. 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany at pick 85 is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88 Rnd3 Kris Abrams-Draine
Kris Abrams-Draine in the 88th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick102 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in slot 102 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
No drama and no debate, Cole Bishop went about where he belonged in pick 104. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick118 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster at the 118th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg in the 126th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick156 Rnd5 Nelson Ceaser
Nelson Ceaser in pick No. 156 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick169 Rnd5 Myles Cole
Value said wait; Myles Cole in slot 169 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
They liked Nathaniel Watson enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 202. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick206 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand at the Round 6 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick219 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at Round 6, Pick 44 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trajan Jeffcoat
They reached a country mile for Trajan Jeffcoat at the 245th pick, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick255 Rnd7 Miyan Williams
No edge and no loss on Miyan Williams in slot 255; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
