The 49ers robbed the room for Blue. Final grade: D.

The phones were a trap the 49ers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Burch has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. DeForest Buckner gives the group a proven body among the projects.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
