McCarthy is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

They have staked the next five years on J.J. McCarthy, which is the only story that really matters here. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Davis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The Williams pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
