Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B

Clark should have been long gone. The Steelers pounced, and earned a B.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Steelers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

On value alone, Clark makes the weekend a net positive. If Limmer pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots still on the board.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
They took Tyler Guyton at par in No. 37, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick52 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at the 52nd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick84 Rnd3 Maason Smith
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went DT-EDGE with Maason Smith while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis at slot 120 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick121 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
They bypassed pressing needs at interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots to take Beaux Limmer, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Pick198 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
No edge and no loss on Josh Proctor in the 198th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick238 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
Steal is underselling it; De'Corian Clark at pick No. 238 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
