The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a A-.

The Bears spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jaylin Simpson, the No. 137 name on the board, in the 215th pick. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.

So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Caleb Williams and all.
