Deluca DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants

FutureA+
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Giants a B+. The Steven Parker pick is the one that will follow the Giants into the fall. They took him 82 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
The Lawson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 14 they get a matchup problem out wide at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
A conviction pick on Tyler Warren at No. 34 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick45
Rnd2
Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson in the 45th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65
Rnd3
Will Howard
Will Howard at the 65th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick80
Rnd3
Hollin Pierce
Value said wait; Hollin Pierce in pick 80 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick103
Rnd4
Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick134
Rnd4
Rylie Mills
No edge and no loss on Rylie Mills in pick No. 134; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick153
Rnd5
Connor Colby
Connor Colby in the 153rd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick219
Rnd7
Jaylen Reed
The board had cheaper options than Jaylen Reed at the 219th overall pick, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick245
Rnd7
Steven Parker
They left a pile of value on the table to take Steven Parker this early at slot 245. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
