The Cowboys found their guy under center in Daniels: D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Cowboys did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The Byrd pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

They banked enough surplus on Jacobs to cover a lot of smaller sins.
