FutureA+
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B+ to prove it. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Chiefs never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The Xavier Hutchinson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Price.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
Avieon Terrell in the 28th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick47
Rnd2
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
Nice patience on Jadarian Price, who had no business lasting to pick 69. The roster fit checks out.
Pick74
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at Round 3, Pick 10 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jack Endries
A tidy little value on Jack Endries in the 109th overall pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick146
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
They did well to land DeMonte Capehart in No. 146, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick154
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis in pick No. 154 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick216
Rnd6
Jeremiah Wright
Jeremiah Wright at the Round 6 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick244
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
No edge and no loss on Trey Zuhn III in Round 7, Pick 28; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
