FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Jets: B. The Jets went off the board in a big way for Clay Webb, 49 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
However the rest shakes out, Emmanwori at that price is a win they earned. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In the 14th pick they get a mismatch in the passing game. More want than need.
Pick42
Rnd2
Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams in Round 2, Pick 10 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick45
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 45th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick73
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaiah Bond. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick80
Rnd3
Joshua Farmer
A real head-scratcher, Joshua Farmer in No. 80 is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
They read the board right and Jalen Milroe was the payoff at the Round 4 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117
Rnd4
Sai'vion Jones
They reached a country mile for Sai'vion Jones at slot 117, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick145
Rnd5
Clay Webb
Value said wait; Clay Webb in pick 145 says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick162
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They reached into another round for Dont'e Thornton Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick186
Rnd6
CJ West
They took CJ West at par in Round 6, Pick 10, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick207
Rnd6
Jackson Hawes
Jackson Hawes at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
