Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall

ValueB

TradesA
FutureB+
The Ravens robbed the room for McCord. Final grade: B+. Somebody in slot 203 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Ravens sat still while Kyle McCord, the No. 117 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
The Dellinger reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. With edge rusher unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Ravens paired the rookies with proven help, Marquise Brown leading the way.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In the 27th overall pick they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value.
Pick122
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in pick 122 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick125
Rnd4
Gunnar Helm
They robbed the room for Gunnar Helm here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick129
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emery Jones Jr. in slot 129. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130
Rnd4
Cody Simon
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Cody Simon at linebacker with edge rusher open.
Pick136
Rnd4
O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune at the 136th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick172
Rnd5
Brashard Smith
Brashard Smith in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick176
Rnd5
Ryan Fitzgerald
Ryan Fitzgerald slid further than he should have, and No. 176 is lovely value for the specialist. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick183
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Good price on Dont'e Thornton Jr. in Round 6, Pick 7, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick203
Rnd6
Kyle McCord
The board fumbled Kyle McCord all the way to No. 203, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick209
Rnd6
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
A slide stopped in the 209th overall pick, with KeAndre Lambert-Smith worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick210
Rnd6
Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson in the 210th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick212
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson at pick 212 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick218
Rnd7
Jack Kiser
Somehow Jack Kiser was still sitting there in pick No. 218, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick224
Rnd7
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten at slot 224 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
Pick230
Rnd7
Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jaylin Lane
They let Jaylin Lane come to them and pounced at slot 234. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick243
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
This one needs a full-page explanation: Garrett Dellinger in Round 7, Pick 27, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
