Packman318 DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it. The rest of the league had time to spare on Trevin Wallace; the Packers did not wait, grabbing him 78 spots ahead at Round 5, Pick 20.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Jones pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
A reach for Edgerrin Cooper in the 41st pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick53
Rnd2
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at No. 53 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick57
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick58
Rnd2
Trey Benson
A wild overpay on Trey Benson in slot 58, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88
Rnd3
Will Shipley
Will Shipley at the 88th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick91
Rnd3
Jonah Elliss
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Elliss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick92
Rnd3
Andru Phillips
Andru Phillips at pick 92 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick120
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at the 120th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick126
Rnd4
Khristian Boyd
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Khristian Boyd. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They liked Kitan Oladapo enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 140. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at No. 144 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick156
Rnd5
Trevin Wallace
They talked themselves into Trevin Wallace at Round 5, Pick 20, and the board did not agree. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick170
Rnd5
Ty'Ron Hopper
A reach on Ty'Ron Hopper in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
