FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Thornton Jr.: B. Somebody in Round 7, Pick 18 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while Dont'e Thornton Jr., the No. 174 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, outstanding value to boot.
Pick30
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 30 they get an enforcer at safety at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick61
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
A reach on Tate Ratledge in the Round 2 slot; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick92
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Somehow Jayden Higgins was still sitting there in No. 92, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jared Wilson reach slot 137 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
A quarterback of that caliber at the 173rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick187
Rnd6
Raheim Sanders
Circle this one: Raheim Sanders at the 187th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick212
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
The board had cheaper options than Cam Jackson at pick 212, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick236
Rnd7
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
