FutureB-
Larceny in Round 6, Pick 43 lands the Cardinals a B+, Chambers and all. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cardinals left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
However the rest shakes out, Chambers at that price is a win they earned. Jones has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Malik Nabers at pick 15 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In the 27th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick30
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In No. 30 they get a problem off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
They paid up for Kris Jenkins at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick46
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chris Braswell. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick62
Rnd2
Adisa Isaac
Value with a capital V on Adisa Isaac in slot 62, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick66
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at Round 3, Pick 2 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick90
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at No. 90 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick104
Rnd4
Zak Zinter
A straight-up fair deal on Zak Zinter at the 104th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117
Rnd4
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at pick 117 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick138
Rnd5
Dallin Holker
A reach on Dallin Holker in slot 138; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick162
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick186
Rnd6
Dillon Johnson
Dillon Johnson at the 186th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick218
Rnd6
Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers in pick No. 218 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick226
Rnd7
Drake Nugent
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Drake Nugent in the 226th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
