Draft Grade — Broncos

FutureA+
The Broncos bet the future on Nix. The board says D. Nobody else had De'Corian Clark anywhere near the Round 5 slot. The Broncos did, by 46 spots, and that gap is the whole story. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In slot 16 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick53
Rnd2
Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders in pick No. 53 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick76
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick113
Rnd4
Kris Abrams-Draine
By-the-book stuff, Kris Abrams-Draine at pick 113 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick122
Rnd4
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick149
Rnd5
De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark at No. 149 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick233
Rnd7
Zion Logue
They paid up for Zion Logue at slot 233 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick241
Rnd7
DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at the 241st overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
