The Broncos drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: D.

The Broncos lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They are betting Steele proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They will answer for taking TE-EDGE early while interior defensive lineman, tight end and other spots went begging. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
