Wiley should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B+.

The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Michael Wiley, the No. 190 name on the board, in pick 232. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
