Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureA
The Patriots answered their biggest question with Nix. Grade: B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Bo Nix, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. The bottom line is a respectable B.

If Sinnott pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. However the rest shakes out, Corley at that price is a win they earned.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a franchise quarterback, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
A tidy bit of business in slot 34, where Cooper DeJean graded well above the range. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick51 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette slid further than he should have, and pick 51 is lovely value for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 68 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick84 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Malachi Corley in the 84th pick, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick103 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at the Round 4 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The roster fit checks out.
Pick137 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
No drama and no debate, Roger Rosengarten went about where he belonged in No. 137. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick180 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
Jha'Quan Jackson at the 180th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick193 Rnd6 Zion Tupuola-Fetui
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Zion Tupuola-Fetui. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick231 Rnd7 JD Bertrand
The board had JD Bertrand higher than pick No. 231, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
