Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent the Round 5 slot on Willie Lampkin, a name the board had a full 34 spots lower. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Skattebo at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In the end it comes back to Emeka Egbuka, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
