There is reaching, and then there is Braylan Shelby at pick No. 173. The Raiders jumped the board by 47 and dared it to prove them wrong. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

That Pavia pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
