The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Rylie Mills, taking him 47 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Watts pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Johnson.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with quarterback still staring back at them.
