The rest of the league had time to spare on Xavier Thomas; the Steelers did not wait, grabbing him 48 spots ahead at Round 6, Pick 23. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
