The Chiefs let Sadiq fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

Somebody in slot 40 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Kenyon Sadiq, the No. 20 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Reaching for Graves left real value on the table behind him.

They left with tight end solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 T.J. Parker
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
They barely believed it either: Kenyon Sadiq still on the board at No. 40. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick74 Rnd3 Jadarian Price
Value with a capital V on Jadarian Price in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jack Endries
The board had Jack Endries higher than pick 109, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick146 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
A reach on Aaron Graves in slot 146; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick176 Rnd5 Pat Coogan
A clean, defensible pick in the 176th pick with a little surplus value in Pat Coogan. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
