Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Burton: B. Priorities are a choice, and the Steelers made a strange one, taking Blake Fisher at offensive lineman in No. 73 with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots crying out for the pick instead.
Burton at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In pick No. 31 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. More want than need.
Pick35
Rnd2
Kool-Aid McKinstry
A clean, defensible pick in the 35th pick with a little surplus value in Kool-Aid McKinstry. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick61
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
They let Xavier Worthy come to them and pounced at No. 61. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick73
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots to take Blake Fisher, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Pick98
Rnd3
Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton in pick 98 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick178
Rnd6
Dylan Laube
Dylan Laube at the 178th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick195
Rnd6
Kalen King
Kalen King in slot 195 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
