Start where it matters. The Patriots took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Bethune falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
