Tony M DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
C+
ValueD+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The jury is out on the Titans. For now, C+. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Landon Jackson, 36 picks early at the 184th pick. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
If Keon Coleman and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Keon Coleman
In slot 6 they get a weapon on the perimeter, a steep price for the projection.
Pick38
Rnd2
Kalen King
Kalen King in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick106
Rnd4
Troy Fautanu
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Troy Fautanu. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at pick No. 143 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick184
Rnd6
Landon Jackson
A wild overpay on Landon Jackson in pick 184, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick227
Rnd7
Storm Duck
No drama and no debate, Storm Duck went about where he belonged in the 227th overall pick. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
