The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Brashard Smith, the No. 116 name on the board, sitting there at pick 208 like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Myles Garrett gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
