Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B

Good, not great, for the Cowboys: B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 41 spots for Gabe Hall, and value like that does not grow back.

Coleman at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In the 32nd pick they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
They robbed the room for Keon Coleman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick64 Rnd2 Trey Benson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trey Benson in Round 2, Pick 32, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick87 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A slide stopped in the 87th overall pick, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick173 Rnd5 Gabe Hall
Gabe Hall at slot 173 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick213 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
A tidy little value on Nathaniel Watson in pick 213, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick231 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens at Round 7, Pick 11 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick242 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
They jumped the gun on Ryan Watts, taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
