FutureC
The Buccaneers turned the phones into found money: B+. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Buccaneers started one anyway for Troy Bowles, 65 picks ahead of schedule. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
However the rest shakes out, Slaughter at that price is a win they earned. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Anthony Hill Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
The board fumbled Jake Slaughter all the way to No. 54, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick86
Rnd3
Chandler Rivers
Circle this one: Chandler Rivers at the 86th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick132
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
Somehow Tacario Davis was still sitting there in pick 132, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick161
Rnd5
Quinten Joyner
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Quinten Joyner. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick200
Rnd6
A'Marion Peterson
They took A'Marion Peterson at par in pick No. 200, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick235
Rnd7
Troy Bowles
Troy Bowles at the 235th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
