Draft Grade — Titans
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesD FutureC+
The Titans drew a line under the quarterback search with Ward: C+.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Titans spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

Landing Sampson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick No. 1 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value.
Pick41 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka at slot 41 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick72 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
They read the board right and Jayden Higgins was the payoff at the 72nd pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103 Rnd4 Dylan Sampson
You do not let a running back like Dylan Sampson reach pick 103 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick141 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 5 slot with a little surplus value in Malachi Moore. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick167 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at No. 167 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick178 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Nothing to complain about; Kyle Williams went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick188 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
No edge and no loss on Oronde Gadsden II in the 188th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
