Draft Grade — Titans
Overall A
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Titans for Lambert-Smith: A.

You could see the war room lean forward. KeAndre Lambert-Smith at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Bottom line, with Ashton Jeanty leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a featured back, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Nice patience on Emeka Egbuka, who had no business lasting to the 34th overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jack Sawyer
Fair-plus on Jack Sawyer, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick51 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
By-the-book stuff, Jaxson Dart at pick 51 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at No. 76 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick102 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
Steal is underselling it; Barrett Carter at the 102nd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick116 Rnd4 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at pick No. 116 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick119 Rnd4 Tory Horton
Tory Horton in pick 119 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Monheim. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick181 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
No drama and no debate, JJ Pegues went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 3. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick191 Rnd6 Addison West
The board had cheaper options than Addison West at slot 191, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick193 Rnd6 James Burnip
They barely believed it either: James Burnip still on the board at the 193rd overall pick. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick199 Rnd6 Cobee Bryant
They read the board right and Cobee Bryant was the payoff at No. 199. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick234 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
A reach on Ty Hamilton in the 234th pick; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick241 Rnd7 Karene Reid
Karene Reid at pick No. 241 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick244 Rnd7 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
You do not let a wide receiver like KeAndre Lambert-Smith reach Round 7, Pick 26 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick257 Rnd7 Donovan Smith
Value with a capital V on Donovan Smith in the 257th overall pick, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
