FutureA+
The Titans fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A. The Titans put a flag in the ground for Ethan Downs, 37 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.
Landing Kiser that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Tre'Davious White gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, with Tetairoa McMillan leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In pick 14 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the 27th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick35
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at slot 35 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick44
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in the 44th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick56
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Fair-plus on Donovan Ezeiruaku, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick57
Rnd2
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick74
Rnd3
Darien Porter
By-the-book stuff, Darien Porter at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick97
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
They did well to land Jalen Milroe in the 97th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick103
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
A tidy little value on Kevin Winston Jr. in No. 103, a step better than break-even. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick120
Rnd4
Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte in pick 120 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick139
Rnd5
Jaylin Lane
Somehow Jaylin Lane was still sitting there in the 139th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick141
Rnd5
Logan Brown
No edge and no loss on Logan Brown in pick No. 141; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick167
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bhayshul Tuten at Round 5, Pick 29 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick174
Rnd5
Jonah Monheim
They paid sticker price for Jonah Monheim in slot 174, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick178
Rnd6
Jalen McLeod
A wild overpay on Jalen McLeod in No. 178, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jack Nelson
They read the board right and Jack Nelson was the payoff at pick No. 188. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick211
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
Circle this one: Jack Kiser at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick212
Rnd6
Upton Stout
You do not let a safety like Upton Stout reach the 212th overall pick and blink. They did not. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick239
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
A reasonable price with a little left over, Isaac TeSlaa in Round 7, Pick 23. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick247
Rnd7
Ethan Downs
Ethan Downs at slot 247 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
