FutureA+
The Titans won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-. The Titans spent real capital to be 41 picks early on Collin Oliver, and the board is going to hold them to it. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Getting Egbuka where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In No. 23 they get a home-run threat at receiver, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Taking Nick Emmanwori in slot 41 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick54
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka in the 54th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick87
Rnd3
Darien Porter
A slide stopped in pick 87, with Darien Porter worth more than the price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick98
Rnd3
Quinn Ewers
A tidy little value on Quinn Ewers in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
They took Jared Wilson at par in Round 4, Pick 1, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick120
Rnd4
Terrance Ferguson
Fair-plus on Terrance Ferguson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick141
Rnd5
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in the 141st overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick167
Rnd5
Que Robinson
Que Robinson at pick 167 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick178
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
A straight-up fair deal on Jack Kiser at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jack Nelson
They did well to land Jack Nelson in No. 188, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick193
Rnd6
Upton Stout
No drama and no debate, Upton Stout went about where he belonged in pick No. 193. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick224
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
They let Donovan Edwards come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 8. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick231
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
They paid a round early for Isaac TeSlaa in slot 231, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick253
Rnd7
Collin Oliver
This one needs a full-page explanation: Collin Oliver in the Round 7 slot, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
