Draft Grade — Titans
Overall

FutureB-
Ward is the Titans' new face under center. Grade: B-. There is reaching, and then there is Tyler Batty at Round 5, Pick 3. The Titans jumped the board by 107 and dared it to prove them wrong. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In pick 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick55
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
They paid a round early for Tate Ratledge in pick No. 55, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick86
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cam Skattebo. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jake Majors
A wild overpay on Jake Majors in the 103rd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick120
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton at No. 120 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick141
Rnd5
Tyler Batty
Tyler Batty in the 141st overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick167
Rnd5
Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick178
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in the 178th pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jack Kiser in pick No. 188. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick214
Rnd6
Xavier Truss
Xavier Truss at pick 214 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
