FutureA
The Titans kept it disciplined and banked a B+. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Titans spent slot 188 on Jalen McLeod, a name the board had a full 21 spots lower.
However the rest shakes out, Wilson at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
The Braden Smith pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In slot 24 they get a security blanket over the middle at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 3 is lovely value for the safety. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick80
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Nothing to complain about; Darien Porter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick97
Rnd3
Tai Felton
Tai Felton in No. 97 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick103
Rnd4
Savion Williams
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Savion Williams at pick 103 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Somehow Jared Wilson was still sitting there in pick No. 120, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick141
Rnd5
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
The board had cheaper options than Antwaun Powell-Ryland at slot 141, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick167
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They jumped the gun on Dont'e Thornton Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick178
Rnd6
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at pick No. 178 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jalen McLeod
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jalen McLeod in No. 188, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
