Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Titans, and a B- to prove it. The Titans did not so much draft Jalen McLeod as overpay for him, 48 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They banked enough surplus on Tuten to cover a lot of smaller sins.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner. More want than need.
Pick35
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
A reach on JT Tuimoloau in pick No. 35; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103
Rnd4
Will Howard
Will Howard in pick 103 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
A clean, defensible pick in the 120th pick with a little surplus value in Anthony Belton. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick141
Rnd5
Dillon Gabriel
Dillon Gabriel is a better player than Round 5, Pick 3 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick167
Rnd5
Jalen McLeod
Jalen McLeod at No. 167 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick178
Rnd6
Bhayshul Tuten
You do not let a running back like Bhayshul Tuten reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
Nothing to complain about; Jack Kiser went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
