FutureA
The Titans bled value on every deal, hence the C. Some picks age like wine; Domani Jackson at Round 3, Pick 1 will need to, sitting 52 spots clear of his grade.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
So much rides on Caleb Downs that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
Good price on Caleb Downs in the 9th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick29
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In No. 29 they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick33
Rnd2
Connor Lew
They paid sticker price for Connor Lew in Round 2, Pick 1, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65
Rnd3
Domani Jackson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Domani Jackson. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick87
Rnd3
Harold Perkins Jr.
A big swing on Harold Perkins Jr. at pick No. 87, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
Pick141
Rnd5
Jacob Rodriguez
They reached a country mile for Jacob Rodriguez at the Round 5 slot, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick180
Rnd6
Aaron Anderson
Nothing to complain about; Aaron Anderson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick240
Rnd7
Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh in pick 240 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
