A franchise passer in Ward headlines a A- weekend for the Titans. The board owed the Titans one, and it paid up: Jake Majors, the No. 107 name on the board, sitting there at pick 168 like a gift left on the doorstep. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Mays reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Cam Ward and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In No. 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick78
Rnd3
Jack Bech
Jack Bech in pick No. 78 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick119
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Smael Mondon Jr. at slot 119. The roster fit checks out.
Pick153
Rnd5
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick168
Rnd5
Jake Majors
They robbed the room for Jake Majors here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick236
Rnd7
Cooper Mays
Cooper Mays at the 236th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
