Draft Grade — Titans
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Ward in the fold, and a D- for the Titans.

There is reaching, and then there is Sai'vion Jones at pick 103. The Titans jumped the board by 44 and dared it to prove them wrong. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Cam Ward is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

However the rest shakes out, Horton at that price is a win they earned.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In No. 1 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III at slot 35 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick71 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Quinshon Judkins in pick No. 71. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick103 Rnd4 Sai'vion Jones
They reached into another round for Sai'vion Jones, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick120 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
They paid sticker price for Cobee Bryant in pick 120, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick131 Rnd4 Tory Horton
You do not let a wide receiver like Tory Horton reach the 131st pick and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Pick141 Rnd5 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in pick 141 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick167 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at the 167th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick178 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in No. 178 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick188 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
A slide stopped in the Round 6 slot, with Ollie Gordon II worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
