Skruger DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Fannin Jr. from sliding. Grade: B. The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Harold Fannin Jr., the No. 53 name on the board, sitting there at Round 3, Pick 18 like a gift left on the doorstep.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. If Green pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Mike Green
In the 18th pick they get a disruptor off the edge, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
A quiet steal in slot 50: Jihaad Campbell for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick52
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
They will replay Omarion Hampton at No. 52 for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick82
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
They robbed the room for Harold Fannin Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick92
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Andrew Mukuba in the Round 3 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jaylin Lane
Value with a capital V on Jaylin Lane in the 137th overall pick, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick172
Rnd5
James Burnip
They read the board right and James Burnip was the payoff at pick No. 172. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
A straight-up fair deal on Jack Nelson at Round 5, Pick 37, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
