Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
C+
ValueC-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Falcons get a C+. The Falcons treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 2, Pick 14 on Kyle Kennard a full 30 spots early. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.
Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Restrepo at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
If Nic Scourton and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Nic Scourton
In No. 15 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, though they paid up to get him.
Pick46
Rnd2
Kyle Kennard
A wild overpay on Kyle Kennard in Round 2, Pick 14, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118
Rnd4
Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo at slot 118 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
