The Eagles checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

There is reaching, and then there is Cody Simon at the 96th pick. The Eagles jumped the board by 34 and dared it to prove them wrong. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Landing Rourke that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

In No. 32 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

Cody Simon in Round 3, Pick 32 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
