Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Titans finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Titans committed. Cam Ward is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Reaching for Baron left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Emmanwori steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
The board had Nick Emmanwori higher than pick No. 35, and the safety fell to them anyway. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick103 Rnd4 Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120 Rnd4 Tyler Baron
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tyler Baron in slot 120, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick141 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Cody Simon slipping to Round 5, Pick 3 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
Pick167 Rnd5 Willie Lampkin
They liked Willie Lampkin enough to skip the value, taking him in the 167th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick178 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 178th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick188 Rnd6 Tyler Cooper
Tyler Cooper in No. 188 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
