Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureA+
The Titans checked most of the boxes and earned a B+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Tahj Washington at the 242nd overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

If Raym pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Abrams-Draine pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots still on the board.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
Nate Wiggins at pick 24 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick54 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
A straight-up fair deal on Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 22, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick106 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Kris Abrams-Draine at cornerback with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots open.
Pick146 Rnd5 Blake Fisher
They barely believed it either: Blake Fisher still on the board at the Round 5 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at pick No. 153 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick158 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
They did well to land Kitan Oladapo in pick 158, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick174 Rnd5 Jaylen Harrell
A real head-scratcher, Jaylen Harrell in Round 5, Pick 38 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick182 Rnd6 Zion Tupuola-Fetui
Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 182nd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick184 Rnd6 Andrew Raym
Andrew Raym at slot 184 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick221 Rnd7 Kendall Milton
Circle this one: Kendall Milton at the 221st overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick227 Rnd7 Matthew Jones
A big swing on Matthew Jones at No. 227, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick242 Rnd7 Tahj Washington
Steal is underselling it; Tahj Washington at Round 7, Pick 22 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
