Draft Grade — Titans

FutureA
The Titans won the night they stopped Cisse from sliding. Grade: A-. The Titans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Brandon Cisse, the No. 36 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Dallas Turner pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
David Bailey
In No. 18 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick37
Rnd2
Jeremiyah Love
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Jeremiyah Love in slot 37, plain and simple. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick49
Rnd2
Mansoor Delane
You do not let a cornerback like Mansoor Delane reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Fernando Mendoza
They will replay Fernando Mendoza at the 66th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
Pick82
Rnd3
Spencer Fano
Circle this one: Spencer Fano at pick No. 82 is a fall that decides a draft. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick101
Rnd4
Carnell Tate
The board fumbled Carnell Tate all the way to Round 4, Pick 1, and they scooped it up. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
Pick102
Rnd4
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in the 102nd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick105
Rnd4
Kenyon Sadiq
Taking Kenyon Sadiq in pick 105 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick142
Rnd5
Kayden McDonald
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 2 is the definition of value, full stop. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick144
Rnd5
Cashius Howell
They robbed the room for Cashius Howell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick184
Rnd6
Jordyn Tyson
Jordyn Tyson in the 184th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not a spot anyone had flagged, which makes it a head-scratcher.
Pick194
Rnd6
Colton Hood
Colton Hood at pick 194 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Pick196
Rnd6
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in the 196th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick225
Rnd7
Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse at pick No. 225 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
