Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
D
ValueB-

TradesF
FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Ravens to a D. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Ravens started one anyway for Hayden Conner, 57 picks ahead of schedule.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Emmanwori falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
They took Grey Zabel at par in pick No. 33, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick44
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
They barely believed it either: Nick Emmanwori still on the board at the Round 2 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick81
Rnd3
Ashton Gillotte
They went early on Ashton Gillotte in Round 3, Pick 17, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
Pick94
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
No drama and no debate, Zy Alexander went about where he belonged in the 94th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick135
Rnd4
Logan Brown
Logan Brown at the 135th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick155
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in slot 155 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183
Rnd6
CJ West
By-the-book stuff, CJ West at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick193
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
A straight-up fair deal on Oronde Gadsden II at the 193rd pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick203
Rnd6
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith at the 203rd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick210
Rnd6
Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at pick No. 210 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick212
Rnd6
Isaac TeSlaa
A wild overpay on Isaac TeSlaa in No. 212, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick243
Rnd7
Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver at pick 243 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
