If confidence were a draft strategy, the Chiefs would have aced it. Gavin Bartholomew at pick No. 249 is 105 spots clear of where he belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They banked enough surplus on Wright to cover a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
