Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Michael Taaffe got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 95. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. The Tyler Allgeier pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
