Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
The Seahawks let Singleton fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Call it larceny. Nicholas Singleton sat on the board until pick No. 218, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Reaching for Kennard left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In slot 18 they get a wrecking ball inside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kyle Kennard
A wild overpay on Kyle Kennard in pick No. 58, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick86 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
They robbed the room for Xavier Watts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick89 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the 89th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick123 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
A linebacker of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick136 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra in the 136th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts is a better player than Round 5, Pick 34 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick183 Rnd6 Eli Stowers
A tidy bit of business in pick 183, where Eli Stowers graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick210 Rnd6 O'Donnell Fortune
A reach on O'Donnell Fortune in the Round 6 slot; the board had better options right there. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick218 Rnd7 Nicholas Singleton
The board fumbled Nicholas Singleton all the way to pick 218, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick234 Rnd7 Kaden Prather
A premium they did not need to pay, Kaden Prather a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
